SERVICES OFFERED

At present I am extremely busy but am always willing to consider any particularly interesting project.

Chess Tuition
I offer private/small group chess tuition, but at present I can only take on pupils who are prepared to travel to me (I live in Whitton, Twickenham) or who live within easy reach by public transport. There are two categories of children I am interested in teaching on a one-to-one basis: children who are taking part in tournament chess on a regular basis, or who are interested in doing so, and children who have specific social reasons for wanting to learn or study chess. Please consult the ARTICLES page, and, if you'd like to take things further, tell me something really interesting about your child when you contact me. I can also run small group courses for beginners. These require groups of at least four children and a committment, for the first step, to a course lasting one year. Chess Teaching in Schools
I am available to run structured chess courses (NOT informal unstructured chess clubs) in schools, either on the curriculum or through after-school clubs. These courses will be based on my curriculum, which is also used by Chess in Schools and Communities, and which can be found on chessKIDS academy and in my books Funding may be available for state schools wishint to put chess on the curriculum. Contact me or visit the CSC website for further details. I am only be available to teach in schools in my immediate area, but can provide informal consultancy for schools in other areas.

Other Teaching
I'm also available for 11+/Secondary School entrance preparation, especially in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and have produced a wide range of other products designed to enhance young children's cognitive skills: Word Searches, Word Finders, Anagram Games, Countdown Letters/Numbers Games, Sudokus, Logic Puzzles, General Knowledge/Vocabulary crosswords etc, many of which can be tailored to suit individual requirements. Editing/Proof Reading
I have strong literacy skills and a wide knowledge of chess so am able to offer this service on any project not requiring a high degree of chess playing skill.

Controlling/Arbiting
No formal qualifications but many years experience controlling/arbiting, particularly in Junior Tournaments.
